SODAPALOOZA MINISTRY

Have you ever heard of Sodapalooza? Well in case you haven’t, it is a deal RaceTrac has during the summer months where you pay $7.99 for a cup and you get endless free refills at any RaceTrac all summer long! What does this have to do with anything you might ask?

Well one of the many times I went to get my free refill, I was riding with Justin Hashert and Makaela Loney, and just prior to going to RaceTrac Justin and I had been talking about how lately we have both been wanting to see God do something amazing! We had both been praying and asking The Lord to test us in having Child Like faith. Little did we know He was about to answer us that night! Right as we were leaving RaceTrac, a woman approached us and began to tell us that she didn’t have any money for gas and she needed to get home to Arlington.  Now normally I am kind of skeptical and I just give a dollar or two and go on my way, but that night I felt a strong pull, or call, to go over to her and talk to her. After we had all given her the cash that we had, I asked her “is there anything we could pray for you about ma’am?” She immediately said, “yes PLEASE” and began to tell us about all the trouble and hard ships in her life lately, and how she had gotten a disability in her back. I felt a strong urge to ask her to pray for her back, so I did and she said yes! We all began to pray for her and laid hands on her back! When we were done she was crying and said “My back feels better!” She was thanking us and we began to tell her that it was not us, but Jesus who has healed her!

In that moment of God calling me to go and talk to that woman and pray for her, I had to step up and step out of my comfort zone in faith. We must have the courage to answer His calling! In that moment we entered into a covenant with God and He did the impossible! That lady told us her back wasn’t hurting anymore, we believe truly that God healed her! So now Hashert and I are praying that The Lord would start up a “sodapalooza ministry” and every time we go to refill He would bring an opportunity for His name to be glorified!
