Haley Kelly
I remember the first time I ever felt completely lonely. The
summer before I started high school I practically lived in my room. I never
went to go hang out with friends or family. The only time I would leave my room
was to go downstairs to eat or to go to soccer practice/games. I felt like no
one was there for me, and like I couldn't open up to anyone. I was all alone in
my thoughts for two and a half months. Looking back now, I would definitely say
that this is one of the worst times of my life!
The second time I reached that lonely season was the summer
before my senior year. Except this time it was a different type of loneliness.
This is the summer I got intimate with God. The friendships I had had begun to
crumble, and once again I felt like I had no one. However, it was during this
time that I learned to seek God more than ever. I discovered that He alone is
able to satisfy my deepest needs and that no other person or thing could do so.
That summer Jesus was all I had, and even in my loneliness I found out that He
alone is enough.
Maybe you’re in a season of loneliness right now, let me
encourage you by saying that the Lord has you right where He wants you.
Sometimes God will strip us of all we have to show us that He is all we need.

Him down on your knees in prayer. Grab your phone and to listen to some worship
