Have you ever been faced with a tough situation, and just wanted to take the easier way out? As a child, I used to hide my clothes under my bed just because it was easier than actually doing laundry like I was suppose to. Thieves steal money because it is easier than getting a job and making money. Others may resort to different types of violence in situations where self-control is difficult. Sometimes it’s even easier to yell or argue rather than responding in a kind and gentle way.
Being a Christian isn’t easy. If someone was making fun of Christ-followers, it would be easy to join in and just agree with what they are saying. It’s very tempting just to take the easy way out and deny Christ to save yourself some humiliation or embarrassment. But that’s not what Christ calls us to do.
READ EPHESIANS 6:10-13
Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were ordered to bow down to the statue and deny Christ as Lord, the pressures of this will try and force us to do the same. If you look at the verse we just read, as Christians we are called to stand firm in what we believe in. Even when we are faced with fire, we are called to stand firm. I encourage you to put on the full armor of God everyday, and be ready to battle “against all strategies of the devil.” Will you stand up for Christ?
