Sometimes it’s hard to know what God has planned for your life. Sometimes you may feel like everyone around you is doing huge things for God’s kingdom, but you are sitting over here feeling useless. To be honest, that’s how I felt most of my life.
With Spencer being my older brother, I always felt like I was in his shadow. He was an 11-year old worship leader with a full beard, and I was only the drummer. Spencer was the one who had a calling from God, and I felt like I was doing nothing compared to him. My real problem was that I wasn’t seeking out what God had for my life. I didn’t realize how He was working inside me. Instead, I was focused on the great things her was doing in other people.

Did you know that God had a plan for me while I was still in my mother’s womb? I know that it’s crazy to think, but we are God’s masterpiece. Me! I used to think that my brother was the one called by God, yet I also am God’s masterpiece. As a younger child, it was harder to understand my purpose for God’s kingdom. As I have grown older, I have begun to pray and ask God about my calling. He has shown me the huge plans that He has for me. Even though Spencer may be carrying out his calling through worship, I will be carrying out my calling through teaching children.
How can you find if you don’t seek? If you want to find your calling and seek out what God has planned for you, I challenge you to seek it out. Go deeper in prayer and worship and ask God for His will to be done. Whether you are called into ministry, worship, being a missionary, or reaching lost souls by being a competitive whale watcher, God has a plan for you. Seek His will!
