Have you ever been in the middle of a phone call and it dropped? Stinks, doesn’t it? After your initial frustration, most likely your next step is to figure out what went wrong. Chances are you lost the call due to one of these 3 reasons:
ONE, you didn’t take the time to charge your battery beforehand. TWO, you went through an area with no reception and you lost service. Or, THREE, possibly a really rough storm may have caused the connection to fail.
If we are not deliberate and proactive in our daily spiritual lives, these things can also cause a temporary "disconnect" in our relationships with Christ. Just like your phone battery, you must also recharge your spiritual battery daily to keep it working the way it should be. When going through a “bad service area”, we must also be careful about what places and things we allow to influence us. Sometimes in life, we pass through storms that are allowed by God, not by our choice, but as a test of our faith. When we go through these storms, we must simply hang on and not lose hope. The clouds will part and the sun will surely shine again, allowing the connection to be restored.
READ LUKE 11:9-10
“And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."
PSALM 119:97-112
Oh, how I love your instructions!
I think about them all day long.
98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies,
for they are my constant guide.
99 Yes, I have more insight than my teachers,
for I am always thinking of your laws.
100 I am even wiser than my elders,
for I have kept your commandments.
101 I have refused to walk on any evil path,
so that I may remain obedient to your word.
102 I haven’t turned away from your regulations,
for you have taught me well.
103 How sweet your words taste to me;
they are sweeter than honey.
104 Your commandments give me understanding;
no wonder I hate every false way of life.
105 Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path.
106 I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again:
I will obey your righteous regulations.
107 I have suffered much, O Lord;
restore my life again as you promised.
108 Lord, accept my offering of praise,
and teach me your regulations.
109 My life constantly hangs in the balance,
but I will not stop obeying your instructions.
110 The wicked have set their traps for me,
but I will not turn from your commandments.
111 Your laws are my treasure;
they are my heart’s delight.
112 I am determined to keep your decrees
to the very end.
and a light for my path.
106 I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again:
I will obey your righteous regulations.

I challenge you to keep your spiritual battery charged daily through prayer, Scripture reading, and worship. Also, we need to be careful with the influences we allow in our lives, and to trust God when we can’t seem to hear Him through the storm. SUBMERGE yourself in the presence of God and His written word and you will find peace and joy to sustain you through your journey.
Be blessed today!
