One year on my birthday an
awesome friend bought me a new bible and I LOVE it, it’s everything I wanted. I
brought it to work every day and had it sitting on my desk, about two weeks
went by and a coworker (who doesn’t know Jesus) asked me “do you ever read
that?” ...... Ouch conviction! My response was “yeah I read it!” as my thoughts
were please don’t ask any more questions cause I haven’t read in about a month.
I was not prepared for that.
Have you ever been asked what you
believe and why? Are you prepared to answer that? As a follower of Jesus you
should know and understand what you truly believe. Is your understanding of
Jesus and who Jesus says he is greater than the world’s voice? If not, you
could easily be persuaded to a false teaching. How do we get to know Jesus? 1.
He wants to talk to you constantly, pray to him about everything! 2. If you
have questions or confused about something don’t be scared to ask a leader, I
personally have learned so much simply by asking questions. 3. Do a devotional
every day! 4. Go watch an amazing sermon on a topic you don’t understand well.
(Matt Chandler, Francis Chan, Judah Smith) 5. Really read and study a few
verses 6. Get alone and worship HIM! 7. Go out of your way and get connected to
a home group.
READ PSALM 119:10
READ MATTHEW 7:15-20
I challenge you to take one of
those 7 and make it a priority each day of the week and see how much you grow
and how great each day becomes!
