Let’s ask ourselves a few questions. Am I spiritually
mature? Am I still being moved by the things of God? Do I have a desire to grow
closer to God? Is quoting scripture enough?
In Hebrews 5 the author is warning the Hebrew Christians
about falling out of church, which all starts with spiritual immaturity.
Maturity has nothing to do with your age so we ask what leads to spiritual
maturity? Desire, a desire to know God, with all your wants God is your number
one want. You constantly want to be in His presence and know Him personally.
Then comes knowledge, you learn more about God and who he is when you spend
time with Him. You understand scripture better and things just seem to be
clearer. But because you now know and understand Jesus’ words, then comes
responsibility. God gives you responsibility because He trust you. Last by not
least comes action, God has given us responsibility and is now requiring us to
do something more with what we know. Not only living by the truth but teaching
it!

Pray and ask God to show you where you can be working on
your spiritual growth. Pursue God like you never have before. Today I am
choosing to eat meat and to quit being bottle fed.
