MAGNITUDE OF SOMEONE'S ETERNITY

I wonder if we as humans can even understand the magnitude of someone’s eternity. God loves us more than any human mind can possibly comprehend, and he wants us to spend ETERNITY with him! But how often do we really think of that when we are looking at someone who is lost? How often do we see a lost person and realize that the Lord loves that person as much as he loves you or me? And just like God rescued us from an eternity of darkness and separation from God, He wants to rescue that lost person just as much! Just think about the fact that God has chosen and trusted us with the task of being used by God to impact and change someone’s eternity! WHAT?!?! That is such an important task! And he is entrusting us with it! WHAT AN HONOR! Yet so often we come across people every day who are lost, and not one thought passes through our mind. We have grown so cold and callous to how important someone’s eternity really is!

So for this devotional, I simply challenge you with this. Take some time out of your day and find a quiet place to get alone with God. Begin to really plead with the Lord and ask Him to give you a heart for the lost! Ask Him to break your heart just as His breaks for His lost children! Ask him specifically to place one or maybe more names on your heart, and really plead with the Lord to save them. Pray that through you the Lord would impact and change someone’s eternity.
