Have you ever seen a Medieval Joust? I was blessed to have a wonderful woman take me to Medieval Times for my 20th birthday. You may think I’m too old, but this was my lifetime desire and wish and I was never able to go. I had the most amazing time with her and enjoyed the entire evening. The most amazing part was the joust. The knights where traveling high speeds as they were attempting to gain the prize. Some of the pole even shattered from the force on the oppositions shield!
You may not know this, but I used to be a jouster. Although I didn’t have a horse, I have an umbrella and a worthy opponent (who just happened to be the wall on my room).
It all started when I asked my mother if I could go to my best friend’s house to play, with which she replied a stern “no”. I was yelling and screaming, and ended up getting sent to my room. I was angry because she always said "no"! She had said "no" all week! My first response to my anger was....yes....stabbing an umbrella in the wall. Sadly, I won the battle, but my wallet wasn’t so lucky.

Looking back at that situation, I can think of hundreds of ways that I could have reacted differently. I had no self control, and it go me into a lot of trouble. I used to have a problem with anger when I was younger. You may wonder, Chandler? Angry? Just take my Chiloso, and you will see a whole new side of me.
Anger isn’t a sin, but its get dangerous when you let it control you. Be “quick to listen” (don’t always be thinking about a clever comeback, but think of the other persons point of view.) Be “slow to speak” (Don’t respond immediately. Think, and weigh the consequences of your words. They are dangerous.) Be “slow to get angry” (don’t fly off the handle with the simplest things. Exhibit self-control in everything that you do.) Meditate on these three tips today. Re-read them, study them, and commit them to memory. Try and line them up with your own life, and think of how well you follow them.
