I walk into the room,
and smell the girl I came for. I walk over to her, and greet her once again. I
can’t turn my eyes away. I look in amazement, wondering how it has been so long
since I went without my love. We went and sat down together in the corner. It
was magical from the first moment and I knew it was going to be a great date!
As I began to dig
into my Chiloso breakfast, I knew we were meant for each other. I never
believed in love at first sight, until I saw that bacon, eggs, and cheese on a
warm tortilla. I knew it was true love. We were soulmates. (Until I finished
eating, then it was all over.)
READ 1 CORINTHIANS
13:4-8
This verse has so
many different specifications pertaining to Love. What is Love? As you can see
in the scriptures, Love is not something to be taken lightly. With my recent marriage
to the true love of my life (Sorry Chiloso), I have probably recited this verse
to myself hundreds of times.
This is a shorter
devotional because I want you to do something. I want you to grab a piece of
paper (or write down in your journal) every single definition of love that is
provided from these verses. For example. “1. Love is patient. 2. Love is
kind...etc.” In the upcoming days and weeks, I want you to refer back to this
list and try and fill it out with examples of how you exhibited/proved each
one. I’m not just going to give you a cute little devotional to read and go on
with your day, I want to challenge you and your walk with God. Don’t ignore
this devotional. It will cause you to become more aware of how you love and
treat people. I would encourage you to memorize these verses because as a
sinful human, you will forget. You need constant reminders if you want to
become more like Christmas. Go out there and show
love like God has commanded.
