EXPERIENCING GOD’S PRESENCE

Nikki Hixson

READ MATTHEW 28:9

When seeing Jesus for the first time after His resurrection, you can imagine all the questions you would have. However, when these women saw Jesus the Bible said the first thing they did was grasped His feet and worshiped Him. When you’re in the presence of God, every question dies away, nothing else matters.

Psalm 16:11 says that in God’s presence is the fullness of joy. In Exodus 33, Moses tells God that if God’s presence doesn’t go with them, then he doesn’t want to go. In Psalm 51, David pleads for God not to take His Spirit from him. So, it is safe to conclude, after reading these passages, that there is something sweet, something powerful about the presence of God. There is something incredibly special about the Holy Spirit if Jesus said to His disciples in John 16 that it is for their GOOD that He leaves so that the Holy Spirit can come.

I wonder how many people have truly experienced God’s presence. How many people have really tasted and seen that the Lord is good? Because once you do, there’s no turning back. You won’t even want to. Too many times we have entered into a time of worship, and instead of worshiping, we just sing songs... and there is a difference.

I challenge you today to go into your room, shut the door, get on your knees and ask God to come. Ask the Holy Spirit to meet you there. Tell God you want to see Him. Tell Him you want to experience His presence like never before. Tell Him you want to go deeper.

Get on YouTube and look up “The More I Seek You” by Kari Jobe. This song will bring you into the presence of God.

Enjoy His presence. Enjoy the fact that you get to spend time with the King of the Universe. Ask Him to come in power. And never take His presence for granted. Worship Him, because He’s worthy and wait for Him to show up. He will.
