Have you every lost reception while talking on the phone? I remember one time, I was on the phone with this hot chick named Nia. I was telling her about the details of my long day of work and school (I tend to tell very long and detailed stories). I just remember talking and talking, but when I stopped for a response, I heard nothing. I gave her a second to clear her throat and respond, but still, nothing. Did I say something wrong? Did I go deaf? Was she still even on the phone? After looking at the screen, I noticed I was disconnected by good ole’ AT&T, and it wouldn’t be the first time.
Has your spiritual life ever felt similar to my situation? Maybe you continually ask God for something, or pray for guidance, but sometimes wonder if he is even listening? Luckily, God isn’t like AT&T. God never drops our prayers like they drop calls.
READ PSALM 37:23-24
Even though I ensure Nia that I am always there for her, the truth is, I’m not. The only person who can “always” be there for anyone is God. In the verse you just read, it says that God holds the hand of the Godly. He directs our steps! Even when you feel depressed, lonely, or abandoned, know that God is always there with you. There is no possible way to be completely alone in this world. And if you think God doesn’t care about you, refer back to our verse. “He delights in every detail of their lives.”
When I finally did tell Nia about my day, I felt very loved in the fact that she delighted in every detail of my day (every small, tiny detail). Whenever you feel like you are in a time of darkness, remember that God is always with you. God says that even though we may stumble, we will never fall because He holds us by the hand. Always remember that the creator of the universe is with you.
