"I Love You Still" - Jesus

By Nikki Lane

It’s a hard thing to fathom that God sees and knows everything about you, isn’t it? I think it’s even harder to know that and then believe that He still loves you, right? It’s easy to think there are some things you have hidden from God that He doesn’t know about. And you’re glad He doesn’t know about them because you just know that if He did, He wouldn’t want you.

God does not have “buyer’s remorse”. He does not regret saving you… even with all of your junk. Think about it like this: If God is outside of time then He is not limited by time; He was here before time began and will be here when it’s all over, right? So, think about this – when Jesus was hanging on the cross, He could see you in your deepest darkest moment. You know, that one you don’t think He knows about… that one you’ve been hiding from Him. So, He’s hanging on the cross and He sees you in your sin and He says, “Yes, I still want to die for her. I still want to die for him. She is still worth it. I still love him.” Despite you and your sin, He thinks you’re still worth the price of His blood. He sees and He knows everything. Nothing is hidden from Him.

READ: Psalm 139:1-18

O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!

I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
12     but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!

READ: James 5:16

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

The verses in Psalms show us just how much God sees: everything. I think there are many ill taught or wounded believers who fear and resent God’s awareness of all that they do, say and think… like it’s a bad thing or something. The fact that God sees and knows everything is not a “bad thing” or something to fear. In my opinion, it’s more proof of just how much He loves me. He sees everything I do, He knows everything I think, and He STILL loves me and sent His Son to die for me? That’s pretty big time. There is serious freedom found when you grasp that fact.

I challenge you. Get alone with God today and tell Him about that thing or things you’ve been hiding from Him. That secret sin that you don’t want Him to know about…spoiler alert: HE ALREADY KNOWS. And He loves you still. And then—I want you to take it a step further. Find someone you trust… someone that you know cares about you… someone that you know loves Jesus. And confess to them what you’ve confessed to God. As we just read in James, there is power in confessing your sins to one another: healing and freedom can be found. Freedom is yours, today.
