WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW WON'T HURT YOU

What You Don’t Know Won
By Nia Moreau

Last year Chandler and I decided to take on one of the world’s hardest obstacle courses and mud runs for the first time ever. While it was the most physically challenging things I’d ever done, it was also a large part mental. Imagine running 10 miles, covered in mud, water and probably other things on wooded terrain, with 25 special forces obstacle courses in between it all. You’re tired, hungry and around mile 5, beginning to wonder who disguised themselves as you and signed you up for this thing. Each new obstacle you run up to requires mental grit and a decision to tackle something new for you, that can honestly be pretty scary.

In this race, there were 2 things that I never experienced and was completely unaware of the true pain that could come doing these activities. You may have heard from people before that “What you don’t know won’t hurt you”. Sounds quotable, but I’m here to tell you that I had no idea what it was going to be like being shocked by hanging live wire, and it still hurt. So I’d say that things you don’t know can hurt you all right! That’s one moment I wished a lack of knowledge could have taken away the sting of being electrocuted!

This coming year we’re actually doing it again. You can bet I’m not going in to it with ignorance, but full awareness and having trained better to take on the new obstacles of this year. I’ll be sure to look up and get informed on what obstacles are going to be coming my way, so that I can learn what I need  and plan accordingly.
READ JOHN 4:23
See even the bible is clear that it takes both worshipping in the spirit and the truth (God’s word) to be a true worshipper! This is what God the father is looking for. Those that desire for the truth of God’s word to examine their lives, and to gain more wisdom from it. In order to better serve, love and encourage those around them. Find something you can begin reading in the bible this week. the Youversion bible app is a great place to start! You can search for nearly any subject and learn what the bible says about it. You may start out reading your bible from a place of discipline and trying to form a habit, but I can guarantee that as you begin to let it transform your life, the desire will become second nature and something you look forward to. I challenge you to try it! Don’t be ignorant to the life change that comes from reading the bible, see it for yourself!
