Here are a few
questions guys… Have you ever known someone who has been a Christian almost their
whole life, but still acts as if they’re not even saved? Have you ever known someone who calls
themselves a Christian but still think it's okay to do a couple “little” sins? Have you ever known someone who identifies
with being a believer but still continues to cuss all the time? Or talk about
the opposite sex in derogatory ways? We call this… Immature Christianity!
Now, don’t get me wrong…. You don’t
have to be perfect. There is a time and
place for immaturity; for instance, when a baby is born we don’t automatically
expect them to eat meat just a few weeks after coming out of the womb. And we don’t expect them to give up their
bottle or passy right away. But in order for growth to happen, something has to
change at some point. Sanctification is the continual process of being made
holy. In order for growth to take place you have to be willing to submit
yourself to sanctification and the process being made to look like Jesus. And, sometimes it does not feel good but it
is totally worth the struggle and fight.
Remember though, you can grow
physically without growing spiritually. I know a bunch of “grown folk” (that’s my cool word for old people) who
have called themselves Christians for 50 plus years, but if you were to just
sit back and observe their lives and listen to the way they talk you would
never know they were going to Heaven. We,
as Christians, should be DIFFERENT and SET APART!! There should absolutely and
positively be a difference in how we live our lives.
Commit today to strive to live a
life of holiness; constantly pursuing the deep things of God…not settling for
anything less. Choose to put down the milk
and pick up the meat! Ask the Holy
Spirit what you need to change in order to live a mature Christian life. YOU
GOT THIS!!
